"Chuen Kee Ferry" Screening & Sharing
For the residents in Lamma Island, the ferry is the only daily transportation to and from the city, the cabin is their important living space, and countless communication in daily voyages. Documentary director Ma Chi-hang using an observational method captures the daily life of the residents on ferry, peeking into the diverse community and the unique human touch of Lamma South.
In this screening session, we will have director Ma, Mr Wu Kwok-kwong, one of the owners of Chuen Kee Ferry , and islander Mr Kwok Wai-chuen from the research team , sharing about the documentary and life of South Lamma.

About the Artist :
Ma Chi-hang
An independent film director, Ma received his Bachelor of Art in Fine Arts and Master of Arts in Philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Apart from film production, he is also engaged in writing, cultural management and art education. His documentary film, Ballad on the Shore (2017), widely reputed for its poetic portrayal of Hong Kong’s disappearing fishermen culture, received the Ethnomusicological Film Award (commendation) and Intangible Culture Film Prize at the 16th RAI Film Festival.
