Sze Ka Yan
Born and raised in Hong Kong, he graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a bachelor's degree, majoring in sound design and music recording. Participated in the exchange student program of the Royal Academy of Music and Drama of Scotland. Since 2008, he has participated in local and overseas stage work. In 2014, he was nominated for the Hong Kong Drama Awards for Best Music Design in 2014 with the "Golden Dragon". Shi is one of the founding members of the "Empty City Project", a non-profit organization, and uses the abandoned space of Hong Kong to carry out cultural activities.
He is now a freelance artist, creating works involved in music and sound, theater and dance sound and music design, video and visual arts and education.
In July 2015, he was invited to perform at the annual conference of the Intonation Society for Improvised Music in Switzerland. In April of the same year, he was invited to the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the artist-in-residence program, where he created music for dance works on campus.
Now he and the musician Qiu Lixin form Lovers' GOAT II, create and perform new music works by the two, and are active in promoting and developing local improvised music.
